Ms.Sipes "teaches" 5 different classes, 2 PreCalculus and 3 Geometry classes. From the experiences shared by students who have her as a teacher, she is the worst kind of person. She refuses to teach, but instead puts up unreadable slides for roughly 30 seconds, she then proceeds to do "sample problems" which barely pertain to what the slides may have tried to portray. Sipes gives homework which is nowhere close to what was taught in class, making the students struggle and teach themselves, leaving the students with an average of 3-4 hours of homework a night. When students come in for tutoring, they receive next to no help and get almost no answers. One student i had talked to had stated "it took her an entire week to answer one simple question i had" its not as if she's too busy either, as she will, more times than not, work on other things rather than help the students that are making the attempt to come into class after school, and receive help. Ms.Sipes has also tested students on things they haven't even had the chance to try to teach themselves. Just today (8/16/18) students were tested on a subject which they had only spent 10 minuets on the previous day. This IS the second petition pertaining to this subject, the original was taken down after the student who created it was called into the front office and threatened by Mr.Walker. This was breaking the first amendment rights of the student however, as the right to petition is a part of the right to free speech. Not everything wrong with Ms.Sipes was stated here, however if everything were to have been listed, I wouldn't have enough time to teach myself how to complete the homework. Please help us make a change.
