Due to growing violence, constant noise and environmental issues since ARK housing have been up and running. The residents of Buxton have had enough! We are pushing for the Council and Police to close ARK housing down and make the houses back into residential homes.
The way ARK housing is operating is putting some tenants at more harm and makes the neighbourhood a very unsafe place to live!

I want the residents of Buxton to feel safe again! Every day there are police called out to incidents that have happened in ARK housing. Residents of Buxton are having to take extra precautions to keep themselves safe since ARK housing opened by installing cameras, alarms, locks on gates etc. Some are too scared to walk past some of the ARK houses! One elderly gentleman got spat at when walking past one house! The houses are very intimating and most people have to cross the road when walking past or they will find a different route home. Children are witnessing incidents that no child should ever have to witness. Neighbours are unable to let their children play in there gardens because of missiles that are thrown over the fences - glass bottles, rats and even a fire extinguisher! Constant arguing, fighting, shouting and swearing, loud music all hours! Rubbish over flowing and Rats ...The list is endless. Buxton is a lovely place but it's an embarrassment to think people are driving through the town and having to see some of the awful properties on Fairfield rd (most of the skanky ones are ARK housing or SJ lettings) don't be confused - same people under a different name! I am strongly against how ARK housing operate. I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to change their lives around for the better. Some ARK residents don't get that opportunity unfortunately! They often come out worse than what they were before! I've heard that some tenants fear for their lives when staying in these properties!  They are left to live in squalor and they don't get the proper support that is needed! Drug addicts, alcohol dependants and criminals shouldn't be housed together especially with vulnerable people who are in there for mental health issues! It's all wrong!!! Please sign this petition to get ARK housing shut down once and for all!
