I cannot bear the vision and the thought of the insane terror and torture these dogs go through before their brutal deaths. The Yulin Dog Festival, held annually in Yulin, Province of Guangxi, China, June 21 - 30th, annually, results in thousands of dogs being brutally killed for their meat. These animals are often stolen pets or strays, subjected to unimaginable suffering and terror including beatings and skinning while still alive and in front of festival goers.  The butchers of the festival believe the dogs will taste better for the crowd of on-lookers if the endorphins from the terror the dogs experience are released just before they are slaughtered.  This festival is not a cultural tradition but a recent event that started in 2009 and has faced significant opposition locally and globally.
