·         Indigenous people need to be recognized in the Australian constitution not the preamble and a referendum needs to be held in the term of this Parliament.

·         There is a danger that the referendum on constitutional change will not remove racial discrimination but only include recognition of Indigenous people.

·         Education of the public around the issues and the wording and timing of referendum needs to occur but it can't keep getting delayed.
