Dear Introduce Secondary Supply Laws petition signers, There has been some great news to share with you. On the 18th of August 2015 Secondary Supply Laws were introduced into WA Parliament. The WA Government have confirmed they will do their utmost to have these laws officially legislated before Leavers this year (13 weeks away). As a community, we cannot forget how much harm alcohol is causing day in and day out, every weekend and every Leavers year. Secondary supply legislation will help set some standards in the community about the supply of alcohol to minors without parental permission and that it simply is not ok! I am hoping the discussion raised in the WA community via social media and other avenues really explores the health and social benefits of not allowing the easy introduction of alcohol to minors via the supply from other adults. These benefits are many and include the changing of community attitudes toward the need to consume alcohol to have a good time and to dispel the myth that alcohol is a right of passage for many young people. It is a fact that the earlier one consumes alcohol the more likely they are to have problems with alcohol later in life.
