Federal cuts to health funding could force the Frankston Medicentre to close by the end of the year. The Medicentre is an independently-owned after-hours general practice clinic collocated within Frankston Hospital’s emergency department. It provides over 10,000 consultations every year. This is service allows the people of Frankston to access the health care they need after hours and frees up the emergency department for the most acute cases. It is vital for Frankston and our health system that the funding for this service be reinstated.
