HELP US SAVE the Awabakal Women's Butterfly Cave

HELP US SAVE the Awabakal Women's Butterfly Cave
The issue
It’s hard to get your head around.
After almost 13 years of fighting against development, we have STILL not saved the Awabakal Women’s Butterfly Cave!
Despite the Federal Government recognising the significance of the site, Roche Group/Hammersmith is pressing ahead with their housing development. Why? Because the protections offered by the Section 10 Declaration fail to protect the site and were designed to allow the McMansion development to proceed.
The only solution that will perpetually protect the site is to remove the Butterfly Cave and cultural bushland from private ownership and place it into government ownership.
In conjunction with legal professionals, we have provided the NSW State Labor government with the pathway from compulsory acquisition into reservation under the National Parks and Wildlife Act.
Despite being supportive in opposition, Minister for Environment Penny Sharpe has abandoned us.
All it takes to save this significant cultural site is political will to find the money.
We encourage you to ask Minister Sharpe to #findthemoney
