Lorne Chabot: A legend who deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame!
The Issue
Goaltender LORNE CHABOT had a Hall of Fame-calibre NHL career from 1926 to 1937 (71 Career Shutouts, a 2.03 GAA, 2 Cups, a Vezina Trophy, the first hockey player to grace the cover of Time Magazine) ...and yet he hasn't been inducted.
As the years go by, so do his chances; the Hall hasn't honoured a player from his era since 1998, and the odds get progressively more slim since the disbanding of the Veterans Category in 2000.
Since then, the NHLers that have gotten the call have predominantly been Modern Era players (1992 to the present). They've all been deserving, indeed, but they're all fresh in the minds of the hockey community.
Therefore, the best case for Lorne Chabot is one where we, the hockey fans of 2022, prove to the Selection Committee that Hall of Fame-level accomplishments will always be relevant.
Sign our petition to echo these three simple words... WHY NOT LORNE!
