Hi all, I am saddened to report that as of right now, Hockaday has made it's opinion clear - they have done no wrong. I have personally met with the head of upper school and the dean of student life; during this meeting they made clear the school is not considering a change. Recently the school's headmistress, Liza Lee, sent an email that clarified that uniform pants were not to be worn on dress days during the school year. Previously, uniform pants were allowed on dress days, so this seems to be a step in the wrong direction. Please spread support for this petition. Reach out to your friends, family, and community to get support for the girls at Hockaday. We just want to be able to wear pants! Don't let our school board trample on all that we, the feminist girls at Hockaday, stand for. I'm sure our school's founder, Mrs. Ela Hockaday, would roll over in her grave if she knew of her successor's actions.
