To enable LGBT+ people to celebrate their identity in the face of discrimination
Proud Ness, a gay pride march is proposed for the 6th of October 2018 in Inverness. The march will allow LGBT+ people and those who support LGBT+ people to celebrate their identity and love with dignity. It will also allow them to uphold their rights in the face of inequality, discrimination and oppression. However, the plans have already met with discrimination such as a petition of 600 signatures condemning the march on moral and religious grounds: https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/Gay-parade-plan-for-Inverness-prompts-petition-11092018.htm
We are all human and nobody should be stigmatised or marginalised for their gender or sexuality. Please sign and share this petition to show LGBT+ people they accepted and valued.
"Gay pride was not born out of a need to celebrate being gay but a right to exist without persecution. So instead of arguing why there isn't a Straight Pride movement, straight people should be thankful they don't need one."
