Petition to keep Halloween on October 31st.

The Issue

There has been much controversy over changing the date of Halloween October 31st, to the last Saturday of October. I have seen the majority of adults and children alike disagree with this holiday getting moved. Many people have birthdays on Halloween and it's been a big pride of theirs their whole lives too say that's when their birthday is and would be devastated that it is taken away from them. Others think it will not change any safety hazards or risks that happen whether it's Halloween or not. If parents can't keep track of their children trick or treating that's their own fault as well as think of how many kids might not get candy or be able too celebrate because of new confusion as to when the date is or what if people refuse to celebrate on the new date and still celebrate on the 31st even if the HCA petition is completed? Many citizens think it's disrespectful to history to think it's appropriate to change such a monumental holiday to a different date. How would our ancestors feel if we changed something that is on that day for a reason? Disappointed? Disrespected? Ashamed? We don't know exactly, but we do know the majority of people in the United States think it's wrong to change Halloween to a different day and strongly disagree with the petition (which only requires 75,000 signatures to make changing the date official, which in many citizens opinions seems unfair and should require more than just 75,000 too be the needed amount too make this movement official) the company is trying to have people sign. That would be like moving Christmas to an earlier date. We wouldn't stand for it because that's disrespectful to such a beautiful and religious holiday. Why should Halloween which is also a beautiful and religious holiday be changed? I don't think it should be up to a company that has the name Halloween in it to be the one to decide when Halloween is, as well as I don't think this company understands the risk it's taking creating this petition. Many citizens will stop associating with this company and putting their funds into this company because they're outraged at the company for thinking they have a right to change the date of such a important holiday. Especially when this amazing holiday has been around longer than this company. Who are they too decide when Halloween should be? Sign this petition if you think Halloween should stay on the same date it has always been on.
