Dogs should not suffer a life of abuse and neglect for our entertainment, a fun day out for some to earn or lose money.

Since adopting my own greyhound, I noticed the amount of ads for greyhounds/racing dogs that had “retired” from their racing days and needed a home. 

We are lucky that this is a hugely recognised issue and there are plenty of charities who are trying to end the abuse, but not all dogs are lucky enough to find a loving home after their lives of racing have ended.

The not so glamorous side of greyhound racing includes dogs kept in tight kennels with no room to move, drug abuse, illness and painful injuries. The dogs are subject to a lifetime of abuse and neglect with thousands of the dogs being killed off when they are no longer needed, can no longer make money and completely surplus to the racing industries standards.

This cruel industry needs to end and these dogs deserve love. 

Greyhounds LOVE to run, not to race.
