It is the mission of this petition to create accountable, fiscally responsible, and humane standards of care for the cats and dogs that are residents in this shelter.  Currently, there is no 1) socialization of any kind among the animals or between people and animals,  2) mental and physical activity or stimulation, such as walks, fresh air, play or petting, 3) low cost spay and neuter initiative, 4) no vaccinations or medications, 5) no promotional outlets to reach the general public, 6) no off-site adoption program, 7) no trap, spay and neuter program for feral cats, 8) no foster home program, 9) an extremely limited number of rescue groups, and 10) nor is the shelter open on Saturday and Sunday for working people to reach these helpless lives in need of rescue, love, adoption, a home, and a family.  "No Kill Greenville," the slogan we are using for this petition can make a difference by showing the Greenville City Council and Animal Control that each animal deserves quality care and a chance at walking out of that shelter alive.  Tax payers money should go to a shelter that is ran in a cost-effective way (i.e. adoptions vs killing) that promotes happy, healthy, adoptable animals.  Walmart and Atwoods in Greenville have both told us that we are not allowed to pass out flyers and petitions at their location to help this life-saving momentum.  The City Council has ignored our pleas time and time again for them to be accountable and proactive in our city shelter and to our animals that rely on us to be their voice.
