Update from Marlon:

Since the last posting of the petition I have made financial donations to a Victim’s Impact Organization called Mothers With A Message located in San Diego.  This organization is headed by a Woman by the name of Bev Bravo.  Her Son was Victim of murder.  She comes in to these prisons to tell her story and when she came here to Calipatria, it literally changed my life and perspective.  Bev was compelling.  In my Criminals and Gangs Anonymous (CGA) class, we are coming together to gather funds as a group and through my insistence, this money will also be donated to Mothers With a Message. The organization, a week ago, informed me that it would be okay to write letters to troubled teens and they will read these letters to them on Mondays and Thursdays. This is what I am doing now. Trying to change the lives of our youth so they do not end up where I am now. I am also awaiting a response from “Prisoner Letters for our Struggling Youth”. This organization allows Prisoners to write letters to troubled youth in an effort to deter them from gang activity, drugs, alcohol, and living a fatalistic lifestyle. I am now in business of changing lives and this is never ending. It is a lifelong process in and of itself. I will keep you all updated on my personal progress.
