The Garrett County Board of Education is proposing the close of Dennett Road Elementary School due to an 11% decrease in funding from the state. They plan to move Pre-K to Fourth graders to other elementary schools in the county and put our 5th graders into the middle school. This will mean bigger class sizes, loss of jobs, and a lot of disruption to our kids.
With Dennett Road being the second biggest elementary school in the county and the Special Education center for the Southern end of the county, we should not be subject to closure. 
I plan to send this petition to everyone from the BOE,  to the County Commissioners, and our elected state officials to show them just how much we care about our school.  If we all band together, I am sure we can make a difference!
