Stop arrest & suspension of license for not paying child support!

The Issue

During these days with the economy the way it is, it is almost nearly impossible to find employment. And when a person that can't pay their child support is jailed and have their license suspended due to financial hardship, it becomes even harder to seek employment. Granted there are some "deadbeat parents" that just do not care. But for those that are doing the best that they can do it is unfair. I am a mother of 4 who has been jailed and denied to have a driver's license. I owed child support to a grandparent that had only one of my children when I was jailed and received a license suspension. When I was incarcerated this left the children that I had remaining in my home with no where to go and no one to care for them. So this being they were placed with family members, who in turn received a TANF check from these children. This caused more money to be paid out by the state that could have been avoided and caused me to have multiple CS cases that I shouldn't have had. When a person has their license suspended they can't seek employment which is a requirement of DHS. That leaves them to rely on friends and neighbors to take time from their busy schedule to assist them in transportation and expecting some money to pay toward the gas. Some people don't have these people in their lives let alone the money to pay for gas. (Such as myself) They need to look at peoples lives rather than worrying about their money. In my case I was jailed for 3 months and my children that I were responsible for caring for, was bounced around from here to there with a lot of sadness and uncertainty. I did not owe CS to any person for caring for my child as the CP had went down to the DHS office and dropped any CS amount that I owed them. I only owed the state at this point. I can't be a parent to my children at home, because I have no license. They can't join any extra curricular activities outside of school because I can't get them to the club or sport. When they need to go to the Dr I have to find someone to take them for me, if they are sick at school and need to come home I have to find someone that is willing to come get me and then go to the school to pick up the child. This is bothersome on their part as well as mine. We can't have a normal life and my children can't be children due to the DHS.
