Don Cherry is a proud Canadian. For years, every week on Hockey Night In Canada he showed his patriotism; from the Canadians he highlighted in his shows to the clothes and ties he wore. I know of no other personality in sports or media who promotes Canada, Canadians and Canadian values and integrity like Don does. Every year at Remembrance Day time he salutes our fallen sons and daughters through World Wars I and II, Korea, peace keepers in Cyprus all the way through Afghanistan right to today. But not only does he salute our veterans but members of our police forces and firefighters too. He even salutes heroic every-day Canadians as they go about their business building this great country too many people take for granted. I may not have watched the hockey game but I always made time for Coach's Corner. Not just for his hockey tips but for the recognition of the great men and woman of this country who serve our country, putting their lives on the line, going above and beyond to make Canada the best place in the world to live!
