So many of you have submitted such smart and compassionate suggestions about what we can do to help Gluay Hom. I ask for your patience while I sort through and compile them into plans of action with contacts, etc. But here's a start. File an official complaint about Samut Prakan Zoo with the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Here's a trail to follow.

1. REPORT THE COMPLAINT TO THE TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND (TAT).  https://www.tourismthailand.org/Send-Complaint

2. THEY WILL RESPOND AND ASK YOU FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION.    infodev.tat@gmail.com.

This was my response.

Unfortunately, the abuse that this elephant, Baby Gluay Horn is enduring at the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo at 10280, 555 Thanon Thai Ban, Pak Nam, Amphoe Mueang Samut Prakan, Chang Wat Samut Prakan 10270, Thailand is not a single, isolated incident but just one sad chapter in an ongoing story of systematic abuse and torture of wild animals for the entertainment of tourists.

The incident has been documented and written about in the May 15, 2019 edition of National Geographic WILDLIFE WATCH.  Here is a link with eyewitness accounts and photographs. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/05/wildlife-tourism-social-campaign/?fbclid=IwAR3z2tlGywwi_Q4-ZN-eqUKrpserRA77yJE2ujgtzFD7NNo8Q0hrBp6rPI0

In Google reviews, hundreds of visitors to the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo speak of the horrendous condition of the animals. You can read them for yourself. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1ZCEB_enUS841US841&ei=RzPxXIv4HMea_QaJwZw4&q=samut+prakan+crocodile+farm+and+zoo&oq=samut+prakan+crocodile&gs_l=psy-ab.1.2.35i39l2j0l3j0i22i30l2j0i22i10i30l2.4526.6261..12110...0.0..0.107.863.8j2....2..0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71j0i67.JFIe1l2Zy8c#lrd=0x30e2a7400049e9ad:0x1d053ba3e55bf965,1,,,

A petition to the Thai government to pass legislation to save this suffering elephant – and others like him – is currently circulating on change.org and has garnered over 5o,000 signatures and outraged comments from people around the world  who are shocked by what they now know is happening every single day in Thailand.  The story is everywhere and will only continue to gain momentum. Once a person sees the image of this pathetic animal, it is not possible to forget or to walk away.

Overwhelming evidence of abuse exists, and thanks to social media, it can be brought to light. We respectfully urge that immediate action be taken to not just rescue this one suffering creature but to pass legislation to end the barbarous practices involved with capturing and torturing baby elephants into submission so they can perform tricks for tourists.

Please keep me posted about what steps are being taken to remedy this matter and I will pass the information on to the thousands of people around the world who are watching and waiting.

Regards, Ave Lawyer
