It has been recently proven that the DNA structure of animals is vastly different to that of humans, making animal testing for research completely redundant.  Therefore we ask for the testing on animals for cosmetic and medical research cease immediately in Australia. Many other countries around the world have already taken steps to stop, and have outlawed (or you might say, made illegal - if this is correct) animal research/testing. Such countries include but are not limited to India, China (recently ended mandatory animal testing for cosmetics industry), United Kingdom (licence animal testing for cosmetics industry) Germany, Israel and many more. Australia should follow suit and be one of the leaders in this change. Let's start with the new Medical Research Centre built in the heart of Adelaide.  Breeding animal to be test subjects is not only cruel but a violation of their rights to live pain free and happy.  You would not allow humans to be bred for testing. Animals should be a given the same rights and should not be sacrificed for our benefit.  Animals are not scientific tools to be poisoned and abused by researchers.
