Jamaica's current Minister of Finance has ruled that as of June 1, 2014 persons withdrawing monies from deposit-taking institutions will be hit with taxes. Citizens of Jamaica deem the new tax to be excessive and undemocratically imposed. We therefore call upon the government of Jamaica to reconsider its implementation.
