Mission Help the Paws started this petition to The Government of Jamaica

The Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) currently faces the grave dilemma of relocating their primary centre by the end of November due to our government putting the property, which has housed the facility for over 20 years, up for sale. They have been trying to find a suitable space to relocate, however, given the nature of the facility, it has not been easy to do so. Why should you care?

  1. The JSPCA shelters many of Jamaica’s stray animals and offers them a second chance at love and life with the promise of a new home. Without the JSPCA… where will they go?
  2. With no suitable space to relocate them to, the animals face being put out —which means scores of stray animals on the streets— or being put to sleep in order to avoid this.
  3. Pet care can prove quite costly, and the JSPCA has provided pet owners with affordable and professional animal care for over 100 years. If the facility should be closed, only the expensive options remain, which are not as accessible to animal owners of all spheres.
  4. Mission Help The Paws is a youth initiative aimed at raising awareness about this problem and bringing it to the government’s priority list so that a new location can be found as soon as possible. Please do your part in helping to save the JSPCA and Jamaica's pets by signing this petition and sharing it with others.
