Hi everyone!

Cree here. I know it has been a while since I last posted an update, but thank you to everybody who still signed this petition and who is still sharing it.

On Oct 21st, the Canadian elections will be taking place. We hope to make history by electing the first person of colour into Canadian Prime Minster-ship. I love this country and it's diversity. I urge everybody to take this as a lesson that the tides are changing, and everybody's time is now. YOU can make a change TODAY no matter who you are or how small you are.

I'm just a girl, but I have the power and ability to make a change. A new generation is taking over, a generation where countless young people are taking a stand for what they believe in and what is right.

You see, one day, I was waiting for the bus. Quietly, I had on my earphones. This old caucasian lady sat next to me and proceeded to talk about her trip to New York. I had no interest in this conversation or talking to strangers, but she was old, so I gave her a chance. She then proceeded to say she met a girl in New York, " 'black' girl like you". At that very moment, I stopped her and told her never to call me that. I told her that I do not, and will never identify as "black" because that is not my culture, THAT ISN'T EVEN A CULTURE, it's a colour. She then said "what's the difference" to which I responded to her that because I am born in Africa, that is what I choose to be identified as. In Africa, NOBODY calls anybody "black". Everybody calls everybody African.

You see, the ignorance of some white people when it comes to other people's cultures is really astounding and downright shameful. But you know what I also noticed? This woman said she was a teenager in the 60's. That's older than almost all our parents. This woman was still holding onto decades old non-sense that had no room in today's world.

To cap it all of, you know what she said? She said "racism will never be 100% gone". Now, granted, I think she was talking about other societies like for example the Indian/Pakistani conflict, or whatever else, but the thing is, she disturbed a lot of people's peace and made a lot of us uncomfortable. She was saying this on the bus for people to hear, while also talking about going to her apartment and saying how she had no husband or children to go to. This is not a jab on her personal life, this is an example of how some white people go out of their way to make other people feel so uncomfortable. Nothing provoked a conversation about race, we were all sitting at the bus shelter waiting for a bus.

White people, please do better. Educate your parents. Educate your grand-parents. I told her that racism is already gone, and while some people might want to call that naive, that is the mindset you must have if you want to do better and change the world. People will make unnecessary noise, but it is our job as the new generation NOT to listen to it. This white woman was very disturbed, and VERY DISTURBING, but alas we must keep moving forward.

So, I challenge all of us today to change our mindsets to a positive one. Do not let the noise of external empty vessels deter you or shake you. IT STARTS WITH US. RACISM IS DONE 100%. I guarantee you that if you continue to say this, and change your mindset 100%, you will be happier and we WILL change this world for a better place. Say this mantra, DO NOT play the victim. Do not fall into silly american stereotypes. Go to school. Be better than these people who think they're so smart, but aren't. All economies are in a boom because of immigrants, if we were to leave, I guarantee you that all these "big" economies will fall in a week. You need us, so let us all work together. To cap it off, the old lady said "aren't you glad you live in Canada?" I had to tell her to stop talking to me that her conversation made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to tell her that this is a new generation, and there is more acceptance in diversity among people of the world, and that racism was a thing of the past dying away. But I could tell she was still living in whatever olden days she came out of and didn't bother myself.

For those of you who want to counter what I just said, you're part of the problem and are refusing to see the message I am trying to pass across. The message I am trying to pass across is if we keep saying positive things, things that don't incite fear, things that are good and of good report, THEN we will win. Then that is what will happen. If we, like that old white woman, say "racism won't end 100%", then how will we bring about the change that we so greatly desire? Let us all fix our mentality, and see the peace that follows.

You see, one thing about the older generation is that they don't know how to let go or how to get in with the winds of change. Let us continue to fight for a great future where the influences of ignorant white people can't come near us again.

Again, this is not an anti-caucasian petition. This is a saying that maybe the world would have been a better place if caucasians didn't have so much ignorance in the past. Absolutely awful stuff.

WHITE PEOPLE, YOU HAVE TO DO BETTER.

To close, do NOT let anybody call you "black" or "brown". You are African and African American. You Western Asian, Asian, etc. Don't let social media or any type of media fool you into calling yourselves things that you are not. Don't let your friends or your favourite celebrities lead you to accept something you are not. Don't let governments dictate to you who you are. REMEMBER, A GOVERNMENT IS FOR THE PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE, AND BY THE PEOPLE. Your favourite celebrities didn't get an education. You are by far more intelligent than all these celebrities, so why would you let them guide you in making decisions about your life? Let us all learn to think for ourselves.

This Canada election, let us let everyone know we are African and African Canadian NOT "black".

As for america, your census is next year. I need you guys to push to be heard. Call up your census representatives and tell them THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CONSIDERED "black". TELL THEM IT IS RACIST AND DOES NOT DO JUSTICE TO YOUR CULTURAL HERITAGE. There will be those "woke" "black" people who will say even more ignorant things like "oh you hate yourself", please pay the lost ones no mind, but instead pray for them that they may see the light. You all who support me and my petition, I am so grateful for you. You see the light, and know that indeed a change has come. The american 2020 election is coming up too. DO NOT LET GOVERNMENTS DECIDE WHO YOU ARE, DECIDE WHO YOU ARE. DO NOT ACCEPT TO BE CALLED "black". BE CALLED BY YOUR RACE AND REFUSE RACIST NAMES. TELL THEM YOU WANT TO BE IDENTIFIED AS AFRICAN AND AFRICAN AMERICAN AND NOT "black".

Start a business, read books, understand that you are more powerful and more intelligent than anyone or any "system" that tries to tell you that you are not, most importantly LET GO OF VICTIM MENTALITY AND DO NOT EMBRACE VICTIMHOOD.Do not say "oh i am 'black' i can't aspire to that/i can't do that". Who told you you can't be great? white people? Please, don't do that to yourself. You are wonderfully and fearfully made in Christ Jesus. You can do all great things through Christ who strengthens you. Do not fall into the stereotypes concocted by evil people, and live your life in happiness and with no barriers. Find out which African country you come from and get acquainted with that. You are not "black". "black" was a term created by racist white people to make you forget who you really are, DON'T LET THEM WIN.

I love you all so much.
