I am a registered veterinary nurse and a pet owner like many people in the UK. Around 1 in 2 dogs and cats suffer significantly with fear reactions and distress from loud fireworks.  55% of horses also suffer reactions with 20 deaths every year. Fireworks are no longer on one or two days a year. It goes from October through to January sometimes continuing throughout the night. They are unplanned and random. Wildlife also suffers - hedgehogs, birds and farm animals all suffer as a consequence of the loud bangs. I want to ensure loud fireworks aren’t available to the general public and only available to licensed large displays. Silent fireworks and sparklers should be available to the public.
