Animal testing is a horrible thing but we need to talk about it, if you don’t then this will keep going forever so today I need to take 5 minutes of your time so that you can read my petition. Some countries are doing a great job such as European Union, Norway, Israel, and India were animal testing is banned and that’s amazing but Australia isn’t one of them which is horrible, some companies even quote that they ‘do not conduct animal testing, unless its required to by law’. So that means that if they are selling to a place like China where its REQUIRED BY LAW to test on these innocent animals! So, then companies will put their own profit over the welfare of cute vulnerable animals like this one. It’s unacceptable!

These poor animals have had no choice but to go through painful tests such as being burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, addicted to drugs and brain damage just because you want to have your makeup products, these are selfish reasons to put these defenceless little animals in pain.

Sadly, more than 100 million animals every year are suffering and dying in the testing labs many of the animals who survive have permanent scars.

Normally animal testing on animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, mice etc would include skin and eye test where they rub chemicals into shaved skin and drip into their eyes. Other tests include force-feeding which last weeks or even months to see if it can cure illnesses or diseases. Then there is the ‘lethal dose’ where they force animals to swallow large amounts of chemicals to see what dose would cause death. This can cause extreme pain and suffering to the animal, on top of the stress, fear, anxiety, and pain already caused to them from being shipped to the labs, the handling, and restraint of the animals prior to the tests.

The worst part is that 92% of the drugs and chemicals that are safe and effective on animals fail in human trials because there way too dangerous or just simply don’t work, so I really don’t see why in some countries it is illegal not to test on animals. Some animals are dying because you can’t make the right choose and stop wearing these cosmetics. It’s disgusting and utterly unacceptable. It’s also disgraceful how no one is standing up for these animals.

These animals can’t talk to tell us how much pain there in, they can’t go to court, but we can we need to stand up for those who don’t have a voice because WE DO!
