Jason Wert started this petition to The Fray

Whereas, the band The Fray is a quartet of musicians (Issac Slade, Joe King, Dave Welsh, and Ben Wysocki) that released their first album in 2005 entitled How To Save A Life, and in subsequent years released three more studio albums of their unique sound and meaningful lyrical content;

Whereas, the songs of The Fray have been shown through social media, blog, and other internet postings to have had meaningful impacts on the lives of people of all ages, have helped people overcome tragedy, addiction, and family problems, and brought joy and hope into places that desperately needed such joy and hope;

Whereas, the band has been mostly inactive/on hiatus since the fulfillment of their 5 album contract with Epic Records, with Issac Slade confirming that hiatus in an interview with the Colorado Community Media in 2019;

Whereas, since that time the world has experienced a horrific pandemic that has sickened and killed millions, and left many families mourning and seeking to understand the premature loss of a loved one;

Whereas, much of the world is still in chaos from the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, still not able to effectively manage case loads;

Whereas, the pandemic has caused in the United States economic hardship for many, caused divisions in communities over methods to control the virus spread, has overwhelmed medical personnel, emergency responders, health care systems, and many nonprofit aid organizations;

Whereas, many people are looking for a source of hope or joy to help them endure the significant challenges the current world situation is placing upon them including, but not limited to, quarantines and cancelations of significant life events such as weddings, funerals, or other celebrations;

Whereas, band member Issac Slade acknowledged the band's ability to provide places of healing and hope for fans, when he told Colorado Community Media: “I think because of that we've almost come to view the show itself as a bit of a sacred experience. A space where people bring their pain and they try to find hope.”

We the undersigned would ask that the members of The Fray please consider ending their hiatus, with the intent of seeing if reformation could lead to new songs  in their unique style, which could likely raise the spirits of millions, and help them find some inner strength to continue in the face of difficult situations.
