Help Brenda Continue to Help the Cats!

The Issue

On June 14th of 2019, Brenda Goodwill was issued a summons to appear in court for violating the village code and “harboring animals”. For years, Brenda has been passionate about rescuing animals and finding them homes. All the while paying for them to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and flea treated before sending them to their furever homes. Brenda has also been known for performing TNR (Trap Neuter Release) on local feral cats who may not be capable of rehabilitation in hopes that it will decline the stray cat/kitten population. Stray cats are breeding, creating more stray cats...out of the ones surviving. The truth is, without Brenda’s interventions it’s hard to say just how many kittens would die and never know true love and compassion from having a family. Even calling your local humane society, you’d be told to “just move the cats to a different location, they’ll go away”. That’s not Brenda’s goal. All Brenda wants to do is find these cats and kittens homes while she fights to decrease the stray population in the area. If you were to visit Brenda’s home, you’d find it hard to believe that Brenda even owns a cat! That’s because she keeps her home in immaculate condition, all while maintaining her job and care for her cats. That’s something this writer even struggles to do, being a cat mother of 2. Brenda is quite literally the superwoman of cats. Brenda loves her home, but has been faced with the possibility of having to move if the Village Board continues to fight her on this issue. There are people who are truly hoarding animals in horrible living conditions, but instead Brenda is being punished for being the only person to step up and be the difference. If you have any compassion and a heart for animals, please sign this petition and help us fight for Brenda’s right to continue on with her passion. Let’s show the Village Board that the numbers of people in support of Brenda, far outweighs the few who want to see an end to such an amazing persons care.
