The Ethical AI ART Bill of rights for artists
The Issue
As an artist, I am deeply concerned about the rise of AI generated art and the potential impact it could have on the art world. While I believe that AI has the potential to enhance and augment the creative process, I also believe that it is important to establish clear guidelines and protections for artists in the digital age.
That is why I am advocating for the creation of an ethical AI art generation bill of rights for artists. This bill would establish a division between AI generated images (AIGI) and AI assisted art (AIAA), and would protect artists from unethical AIGI use.
One of the main benefits of this bill for artists is that it would prohibit the sale of AIGI until it becomes AIAA. It is simply not ethical for anyone to profit off of something they have no skill to create on their own, without compensating the labor they borrowed from others. It would also provide protection for the creator using ai to generate AIGI, and prohibit the company providing the AI from maintaining copyright of the images generated, to ensure proper copyright transference for AIGI transformed into AIAA. This bill would ensure that artists are fairly compensated for their work and are not exploited by those who seek to profit off of their creations.
Additionally, the bill would prohibit the use of AIAA to intentionally mimic existing content of living artist in the same way current copyright law does. Most artists depend on the exposure and practice of their work to make a living, and it is not fair to allow others to profit off of their hard work without proper compensation. This bill would help to protect the intellectual property of artists and ensure that they are fairly compensated for their contributions to the art world.
Finally, this bill would allow AIGI creators to transfer the copyright of their AIGI creations to artists in order to have them altered and turned into AIAA.
These alterations would follow current copyright guidelines for art to apply to AIAA and would help to protect artists from unethical uses of AIGI under current copyright law.
In short, the creation of an ethical AI art generation bill of rights is essential for the protection of artists in the digital age. It would ensure that artists are fairly compensated for their work, protect their intellectual property, and prevent exploitation. I urge you to join me in supporting this important cause and signing this petition for the protection of artists.
