Increase funding for homeless education programs through the McKinney Vento Act.

There are approximately 80,000 homeless children in Michigan, and 2.5 million homeless children in the United States. These children receive around $100 from the government per school year, for school supplies and school breakfast and lunch. On average, it costs $200,000 to raise a child. It is our duty as citizens to eliminate restrictions such as hunger, thirst, and other basic necessities so these homeless children can focus on their education.
