Montclair State University has done a sufficient job in making their facilities accessible to all students. However, there are significant barriers at the entrance of the Student Recreation Center that would make it very difficult for students with a wide range of disabilities to enter and exit comfortably. These black barriers are about waist high, and must be manually pushed open in order to enter and exit. There are also signs and towel bins that block the exit and make it difficult for anyone with a vision impairment, or someone who uses a wheelchair or crutches, to exit without bumping into the objects in their path. It is important for all to students to feel comfortable when entering any facility on campus, and no student should feel they cannot participate in certain activities because of accessibility issues. Removing these items from the entrance and exit near the front desk would help to make the Recreation Center more accessible to all of Montclair's students!
