The Issue
The DSPCA was horrified but not surprised by the contents of the RTE One TV Documentary “Greyhounds Running for Their Lives” aired on 26th June 2019
The greyhound industry in Ireland continues to receive millions of euro of support from the taxpayer for this brutality to greyhounds.
It is simply unacceptable for the Department of Agriculture to continue to provide this funding and to turn a blind eye to the thousands of unwanted Greyhounds slaughtered every year.
The DSPCA today is calling on the Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed TD to stop all state funding to the Greyhound industry with immediate effect.
The DSPCA has also launched an online petition asking you to support this call.
