Petition updateThe CTA Must Stop Laying Off Good Workers!CTA Funding Secured…Get Laid Off Anyway!

In what I consider the most cut-throat, cold-blooded slap in the face of some of the hardest working CTA workers I have ever known, layoff letters were sent out on the same day politicians secured funding for them.

As I have been updating you about the persistent human rights, labor and Contract violations against an exploited class of CTA workers, I thought I had seen the worst. The mismanagement never disappoints!

A member of our union and loyal, diligent Second Chance Program worker sent me her letter. I was sickened because she has applied for almost a dozen jobs at the CTA and been rejected. She also was written up for complaining about bed bugs on a train she was ordered to clean (we are not exterminators).

You can view previous letters I have complained about in updates from June 2025 and December 2023

First, there is no reason to deny Second Chance Program workers a more secure CTA job. If they are good enough to keep showing up and work for slave wages, extreme punishment and exploitation, they are good enough to keep working in a permanent position!

Please spread this petition to your friends. Help me transform the Second Class Program into a REAL Second Chance Program.
