There is increasing traffic on Mt. Pleasant St., particularly in the area of Helen Ave. Vehicles do not obey the speed limit nor do they slow down for pedestrians.  There have been several accidents at that corner. This intersection is used by children from the neighbourhood, residents of Participation Support Services, Brantwood Community Support services and seniors from the John Noble home and apartments. These populations find it difficult to walk to the nearest light at Mt. Pleasant and Vetern’s Memorial Parkway.

A stoplight would make that intersection much safer for all community members, and would help to slow down traffic and reduce the amount of accidents at the intersection.
