The Palisades NW neighborhood association is facilitating and whole-heartedly supporting the nomination of several land parcels to the 2016 round of Spokane County’s Conservation Futures Program. Six of the nominated parcels would expand Palisades Park northward, making connection to Riverside State Park ultimately possible. A few other parcels are “in-holdings”. Acquisition of these in-holdings would help “make the park whole” and reduce any future threats to the park’s character as a conservation of open space to be enjoyed by all.   Palisades Park, a true treasure of Spokane County, is experiencing substantial growth of users enjoying its views, trails and abundant wildlife. The possibility of expanding the park to accommodate more and more users plus securing critical habitat and movement corridors for wildlife is, in our view, extremely important for now and future generations.  Petition of Support  We, the undersigned, wholeheartedly support the various nominations to the Spokane County Conservation Futures Program (2016 round) regarding expansion of Palisades Park and the acquisition of in-holdings within Palisades Park.
