Dennison Mall Stage - needs a re-think

Here's the Council-owned stage on Dennison Mall.

Here is the Laundrette and Donut Shop in the audience.

Also a bit of a bench and a nice tree either also in the audience or backstage... it's hard to work out. 

Not sure what the Council's vision was here - maybe someone can explain it to us?
