Reform Our Toilet Paper

Reform Our Toilet Paper
The Issue
Currently, the University uses low-quality double ply toilet paper in its facilities. This has led to many students feeling rear-ended by the University, which CCSC was alerted to by anustounding story from a student we'll call Joe the Pooper:
"I'm a sophomore in Columbia College and my experience with toilet paper at Columbia has been extremely disappointing. It's gotten so bad that I regularly go out and purchase my own higher quality paper from stores near campus. It's unfair for me to have to spend my own money to maintain a basic degree of comfort for something that (constipation notwithstanding), I and everyone else does on a regular basis."
Consumer studies have consistently shown that triple-ply toilet paper decreases itch, increases comfort and fosters a more pleasant bathroom experience. We have been in conversation with campus services about making triple ply toilet paper available for students to pick up in a centralized location on an as-needed basis and would like students to show their support for this idea. We feel that toilet paper reform is a concrete change that will (or should hopefully) regularly affect student life at Columbia, and we hope this is a cause students can get behind.
