Saint Rose Alums Want Answers

Saint Rose Alums Want Answers
The Issue
We, the undersigned Alumni of the College of Saint Rose, demand that the President and the Board of Trustees halt the impending faculty and program cuts, as the process has not been consultative in any meaningful fashion.
The cuts (that will be primarily informed by market data) are short-sighted, deny our faculty their proper decision-making role with regard to the academic mission of the College, and will diminish the overall academic reputation of the College. We believe that these fundamental changes will erode the value of our degree.
We believe that the College is best served by actual shared governance and interaction between the Board of Trustees and faculty where faculty can actually represent their needs and interests directly. This dialogue is critical for ensuring that academic standards and programs, faculty experience, and the overall mission of the College are fully supported in conjunction with the need to address the financial difficulties currently facing the institution.
