The Issue
Fellow Houstonians, I ask you to take a moment of your time and sign this petition and get the message out that we want the city to shut this place down. It has been the center of many raids and arrests on prostitution at the club and the VIP room is nothing but a brothel, there are well over 1,000 counts of prostitution per week at this club and the city refuses to stop it due to the enormous influence of the owners and the tax dollars generated. Treasures is a hangout for not only the wealthy, but many lowlifes and criminals. A great many of the dancers are virtually slaves to outside sources known as pimps who are scaring the girls into paying them for past debts in order to not hurt them.
Strippers, exotic dancers, showgirls, lapdancers, peep show dancers, and erotic entertainers are usually hired as independent contractors to work in clubs like Penthouse Clubs, despite management having as much control over them as over workers deemed “employees”. This system allows management to deny them benefits and healthcare, pay them less than minimum wage, fire them at will, and even charge them for coming to work. Managers have even been found charging dancers to use the dressing room or the restroom!
When women working in strip club don't have control over their jobs and work environments, they become more vulnerable to forced prostitution, sexual assault, violence, and exploitation. As Erica Tucker explained in an interview, it felt like being on the road to “becoming a modern-day sex slave.”
The owners Ali Davari and Hassan Davari have in the past been accused of structuring checks,money laundering, and many other crimes in houston and las vegas, do you really want these men running a business in the center of houston just minutes from a family epicenter like the galleria.The owners Ali Davari and Hassan Davari have not followed the 3 ft rule at all and are oblivious to the 2 AM drinking limit and serve alcohol in deep into the night to dancers and customers. This place is a beacon of immorality and does not even have a license to be a strip club it is operating under the guise of a loophole in the law and needs to be shutdown.
