There are numerous stray cats wandering around Windsor. Some are feral, but many are just lacking a home. If there isn't anyone who will care for them they face starvation, dehydration, disease, severe weather conditions and death (due to the conditions listed or by a vehicle). When you find a stray here, there is nothing the humane society can do unless the animal is in "immediate danger" or is being abused. It is up to the person who found the cat to bring it in for a fee to surrender the cat. Should the cat have any medical conditions, if there isn't a foster home where the cat can recover and receive medical care, it will likely die or be put down. The WECHS simply doesn't have the manpower, funding, or time to seek out all of these cats and bring them in. I'm asking all of the people of Windsor Essex County to ask the City of Windsor for funding to provide these strays with a chance. If they get enough money, it may save numerous lives get these poor cats the care and homes they deserve. Please sign to make a difference. Thank-you.
