Ten years ago the Crystal Garden Conservation Centre was forced to close despite overwhelming public support for its continuation, and despite overwhelming opposition to its destruction.

Since that time we lost our role as a contributor to ensuring the continued survival of many endangered species of animals, we lost a unique and very important site for education for all levels of learners, and we lost a wonderful recreational site for residents and tourist alike. We also lost a popular and unique location for weddings and other public functions.

In the interim years the building has cost tax payers an enormous amount of money and has caused a real decline in the local economy of the locale in which the Crystal Garden sits.

Victoria's citizens have repeatedly opposed the use of this building as any form of casino or gambling facility and continue to oppose such a use. Restore the Crystal Garden Conservation Centre to its former glory, and once again make it a resource for all people.
