Last and Final Update.

The City of Portsmouth passed a policy for warming centers. It is for private entities only and for 3 days at a time only. Although Operation Blessing is keeping a warming center 3 nights a week, and that is a good thing, it is not good enough. People need a warming center 24/7 during the winter. They never considered our petition. I am sorry about that. But you are awesome!

Like I said before, I cannot declare a victory so the petition either gets closed or stays open. I would like to keep it open and maybe figure out if it can be useful in some way. What a wonderful experience for us to stand up for the most vulnerable among us, even if the city ignored us.

PS I cancelled the useless March 3rd appointment. I did however send the city manager a very long email "in essence" stating that I thought the city failed to step up to the plate.
