Dear AMAZING supporters
The Honourable Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas who put the motion forward for council vote this evening at the City of Perth to have the Christmas Nativity show reinstated for this year and next year,
IT WAS VOTED 8-1 IN FAVOUR
I want you all to know that the Lord Mayor went in to battle for the people to get the Christmas Nativity show back. He spoke with such great courage and he certainly commanded the chamber, you could hear a pin drop everyone was listening. He is a man of his word and great Integrity, he stood strong in his conviction on the importance the Christmas Nativity show has and how it should never have been cancelled, he said he didn’t agree with it been cancelled back then and he didn’t agree with it been cancelled today! He listened to all the pushback and asked the councillors to support him calling his vote in favour 1st and asked who was second and it went on, only one person didn’t support it. 8-1 what an outstanding outcome. The whole audience clapped. The room was full to capacity and many supporters couldn’t get inside because of Covid restrictions.
We have great admiration for our Lord Mayor he stands strong on our traditions and faith. He stood for the people and declared this is what the people want and he agreed with the people of Perth. He was even asked if he believed in Miracles and he responded by saying, yes I do I’m sitting in this chamber as the Lord Mayor. Everyone clapped and laughed.
The next stage is making it happen which is no problem for the producers. This will be discussed with the CEO and adim.
I can’t see any reason why it can’t go ahead.

We did great and people are still signing this petition, it’s great to be on the right side of history. Well over 7,000 signatures on my petition is truly AMAZING!

I will keep you updated after the City of Perth takes the next step and get on with it. People are waiting.
I have been inundated with messages and phone calls all evening, people are so excited that loved going every year that also includes Non-Christians, people wrote to me saying they never went before but they will be going this year and bringing all their families and friends. It’s funny when something gets taken away people jump up and defend it and ends up so excited to be part of this magical event. The Australian people do not like people taking away their traditions even if they are not in Church every Sunday.

The Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas stood very strong in his convection to bring back the Christmas Nativity show and respect the traditional celebration of Jesus at Christmas time.
