I am starting this petition to fix Marion Park Basketball Court. Last year July 14, 2019. I hosted the first annual Fernando's Memorial Basketball Tournament. The players played on a basketball court that was dented that needed serious repairs. A player even broke his toe from the dents and cracks.  I am looking to fix this park so that we can continue this tournament for years to come. Also, so that the community can have a safe basketball court where they won't have to worry about getting injured. This park is important to everyone in this community as many of us grew up here, played in here and now bring our younger family members to. Marion Park is a safe haven for everyone in this neighborhood as many teens and adults come here for leisure and  therapeutic release.

My brother Fernando Crawford loved the game of basketball & played in this park as a young teen and was one of the reasons why this park got a make over in the early 2000's. This basketball tournament is important not only to my family but the community as this is a way to commemorate my brothers life. Last year it was a successful tournament even with a messed up basketball court. To see the community play, come out and  support made me feel like this is something that needs to keep happening. We can't do so without a safe and functioning place to play.
