Save Kadugodi Plantation: Disapprove the bungalows for Netas on 100 acres of forest land!!

The Issue

The luxury township project comprising 225 villas and 75 bungalows for MLAs and MLCs of Karnataka Assembly have been proposed to be constructed on 100 acres of forest-land belonging to the government.

The land is part of the 711 acres of Kadugodi plantation, confirmed and advised by Assistant Commissioner, in April 2015 to be transfered to the forest department (as opposed to KIADB) with updated RTCs.

The plantation is indeed a part of Reserve Forest and one of the last few oxygen reserves in the Whitefield area. Any de-forestation for the construction of luxury township may cause ecological imbalance and further degradation of environment (increased air pollution).

Kindly disapprove the project and save the few leftover forest reserves of Bengaluru.
