Very few people want it.  A small minority has called for its introduction.  Their opinions are being blown out of all propoption as though it's a majority decision and the people will be welcoming once the introduction is in place.  That's pure fantasy.

It is bound to affect the least well-off in society and the bitterness which will inevitably follow once vehicles start getting clamped and towed away will damage the goodwill of the island completely.
