As you may or may not know, the future of Cherokee Retreat Center is in great danger. After a meeting on Saturday, March 1st, the Cherokee Presbytery has decided to put together a board of commisioners who are going to evaluate the viability of camp over the coming months and present their findings at the Presbytery meeting in November. From there, the Presbytery will vote to continue ministry at Cherokee Retreat Center or to sign over the lease for this special place. Over the past few years, the finances of the retreat center have looked rather bleak. However, anyone who has experienced how much God works at Cherokee Retreat Center knows that God's power greatly outshines the limitations of such a worldly asset as money. Matthew 6:31-33 tells us, "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." That being said, please consider signing this petition to show the board of commisioners that Cherokee Retreat Center DOES have the support that it needs to continue ministry.
