Petition updateTo Get the Charity Commission to Deregister the Campaign Against Anti-SemitismCharity Commission Takes Small Step But Keep Up the Pressure Against this Racist 'Charity'

Tony GreensteinBrighton, ENG, United Kingdom
Aug 25, 2017
At the beginning of August I received a response from the Charity Commission in response to correspondence regarding the complaint I had made. This is the gist of their response:
Dear Mr Greenstein
As you know I have been examining your concerns about Campaign Against Anti-Semitism (CAA).
You have objected to charitable status of this organisation because:
1. It is political, launching partisan political attacks on any individual who is critical of the State of Israel and Zionism including references to candidates standing for election.
2. Its focus is on demonising anything to do with the Palestinians. You also complain about its stance on Palexpo 2017.
3. You are further concerned that the CAA has described you personally as a ‘notorious anti-Semite’
As I have said, we do not have the resources to keep those who express concerns to us, informed of our enquiries in ongoing cases.
At this moment in time, however, I am able to confirm that we have addressed one of your concerns.
I can confirm that following correspondence with us, CAA removed from their website an article about a political candidate.
The issue in relation to CAA labelling you an anti-Semite is a matter for you to pursue. However, I can confirm that we are examining the language CAA employs in its public communications.
Our correspondence with CAA continues on a number of issues, and as I have said previously, I will inform you when those enquiries are completed.
I responded thus:
Thank you for your reply of 28th July. To take your points in order.
You say the Charity Commission doesn’t have the resources to keep complainants informed as to the progress of its inquiries. I find it difficult to believe that informing a complainant of the outcome or progress of an inquiry will take many resources. In any event the Charity Commission is expect to be transparent.
I am naturally pleased that you have ensured that the CAA has removed an article about an unnamed political candidate. However there are approximately 100 articles attacking Jeremy Corbyn and there is a particularly disgusting one attacking the late Gerald Kaufman, a Jewish member of the House of Commons who was Father of the House. Ordinary decency should dictate that this article be removed too.
I will indeed be taking the appropriate legal action regarding the description of me as a ‘notorious anti-Semite’ however that does not absolve you of responsibility. In response to my complaint to the Charity Commission, the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism posted a vicious article attacking me. What does such an article have to do with any charitable purposes? Of what public benefit is that article? At the very least you should be demanding that they provide evidence to support that allegation. That has nothing to do with any legal action that I may pursue.
I also asked that you supply me with the names of all trustees of this so-called charity in order that legal action can be directed at the right people. The names of trustees is or should be public knowledge on the Charity Commission website. I can only assume you have given the CAA special permission not to identify its trustees. However that privilege cannot be the means whereby they are entitled to defame people and then escape legal liability. I trust that you will now provide me with the names of the trustees.
The Charity Commission has never hesitated to clamp down on Muslim charities. It is legally obliged to ensure that Zionist charities are likewise conforming with charity law.
Mean while the CAA was busy at the beginning of July trying to halt the Palestine Expo 2017 festival which attracted 17,000 people. Yes you've guessed it - they were concerned about 'anti-Semitism'.
Strange then that the small Zionist demonstration outside led by Jonathan Hoffman had two neo-Nazis on it - Paul Besser, the 'Intelligence Chief' of Britain First, the group Jo Cox's killer was associated with and an open Hitler lover, Neil Horan!
I await the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism taking up the issue of Zionist anti-Semitism though I suspect my beard will have grown from nothing b4 then!
