Why this is important
Abbots Bromley School is one of just 11 schools that Nathaniel Woodard founded during his lifetime. His vision was that Abbots Bromley School should transform communities through education. Abbots Bromley School has done this and so much more over the last 150 years.  His belief that education was the only way to transform society and provide aspiration and opportunity has been born out time and time again. Not only in the successes of the students but in the opportunities offered to the village – employment, customers for local business use of unrivalled sporting and social facilities to the shared reflection of life lost in both World Wars.

The Woodard ethos is:- "We only have one chance with the education of our children, so their tomorrow must be our urgency today".

1. The closure of the school would severely damage the education of the children.

2. The closure of the school affects the children of the local community who share the use of the the facilities to broaden their educational experience.

3. Woodard are obliged under the Charities Commission to explore all opportunities to ensure that the school continues as an educational provider.

4. Woodard are obliged with reference to their own Aims and Objectives to ensure that the school continues as an educational provider.

5. The closure of Abbots Bromley School would severely damage the community and village of Abbots Bromley.

6. The closure of Abbots Bromley School would severely damage the Woodard Brand, particularly amongst other incorporated schools.

7. The closure of the school has been handled in such a way that it damages the reputation of charities and public trust of charities generally. Woodard moved straight to closure without pursuing a sale process or alternative solution.
