This petition originally was directed at the Academy of Holy Angels and a post that claimed they rejected a student solely on their gender identity. However, as more information has come to light, the school was NOT AT FAULT. The original Facebook post was, unfortunately, inaccurate to the true circumstances of the situation.

There is still a problem at the root of this issue, however. The Minneapolis and St. Paul Archdiocese, along with the Catholic Church as a whole, has a long way to go to make a more inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all orientations and sexualities. In 2019, the archdiocese published the following document to address these issues.

We have decided to adjust the focus of our campaign to attempt to create lasting change within the archdiocese. We hope you will continue to help us as we continue along with our mission.
