Delay Ambassadorships Due to Malicious Filibuster of the Late #CassandraButts. #830Days
The Issue
Please help honor the late Cassandra Q. Butts with a bipartisan effort to forbid unethical delays in Presidential Ambassador nominee confirmations. Why Ms. Butts?
Unethical delay tactics hurt citizens as well as both political parties. Cassandra died while waiting for the Senate to vote on her nomination, which was unnecessarily blocked from February 2014 till her death in 2016 at the age of 50. That's over 830 days!
The 830 Cassandra Butts Compromise will be a win for all, and put an end to the political "games" that often hurt US citizens. We, the people, ask for fair consideration of POTUS Donald Trump and the Senate to the following:
- Eliminate the ability to block qualified nominees to an Ambassador position
- Consider consequences for abuse of power via maliciously blocking and/or prolonging Ambassador confirmation
- Consider the Need For Ethics in ALL Confirmations, eliminating political posturing to block qualified nominees of either party for personal vendettas and partisan issues.
- OR: ALL 2017 AMBASSADOR CONFIRMATIONS TO BE DELAYED #830Days
Rep. Senator Tom Cotton filibustered Cassandra Butts' nomination until she died of leukemia, reportedly in order to cause then, President Obama personal pain. POTUS44 Obama praised Butts as "a warrior for social justice, a warm and generous servant who devoted her life to bettering the lives of others."

“All Cassandra wanted to do was serve her country,” Valerie Jarrett, an aide to Obama, told New York Times columnist Frank Bruni.
We are going through a challenging time in U.S. politics. American citizens, many of us who are anxious, fearful, and chronically ill; would like to see our country come together. It's important that we restore faith in the ability of our two major political parties to work together.
We are calling for the Republican and Democratic leadership, led by President Donald Trump; to get to the business of working for ALL citizens of these great United States. However, we are at the very edge, falling into what could become another SCOTUS filibuster, when there's so much work to do. The injustice to nominee Garland was a travesty. Thank you for fighting for justice!
Thank you for your support and consideration. God bless the United States of America.
