On September 23, 2019, The Capitol Theatre announced that they will be switching their ticketing from Ticketfly, a service about to be discontinued by their new owner Eventbrite to Ticketmaster. The Capitol Theatre claims that Eventbrite's new Eventbrite Music platform will not sell tickets for reserved seating as a reason they are switching to Ticketmaster.

We, the signers of this petition urge The Capitol Theatre to reconsider using Ticketmaster, a company with a reputation of business practices which lead to many tickets going into the resale market before fans get a shot at buying them.

Since 2018 in particular, Ticketmaster has offered a price point for a selected number of tickets called "Platinum", where the price is raised or lowered based on demand, usually being way above face value. We do not want to have more difficulty getting access to Capitol Theatre tickets at face value due to Platinum ticketing, bots buying tickets before fans can get them, or other Ticketmaster practices which deny fans tickets.

We ask The Capitol Theatre to choose a different ticketing service to replace Ticketfly.
